School and Observatory of Earth Sciences (EOST) is an institution under the supervisory authority of the University of Strasbourg and the CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research) responsible for the education in Earth Sciences of about 400 students, offering an engineering school diploma as well as a bachelor and a master degree.Besides research activities with two joint research laboratories, EOST is also in charge of observation and diffusion of knowledge in earth sciences.Located on the central campus of the University of Strasbourg, EOST has more than 160 permanent employees among its staff.EOST is an academic partner of the Laboratory of Excellence G-EAU-THERMIE PROFONDE, coordinated by the University of Strasbourg. The LabEx G-EAU-THERMIE PROFONDE is a joint project industry/academy and contributes to research on deep geothermal energy and its use for the production of heat or electricity.
