AVENIA, France’s subsoil industry cluster, is particularly concerned by the decline in student enrolment in the geosciences. Despite the urgent needs of the energy, environmental and digital transitions, the geosciences are not attracting enough people. Yet they have a fundamental role to play. Numerous job opportunities exist in France and abroad, ranging from field work to the use of cutting-edge technologies, from start-ups to major international groups, from hydrogeology to energy storage and mining resources.
This is what we wanted to emphasize by co-signing this article alongside other Directors of the Société Géologique de France.
